Brief History
Implementation of the Quality Standard (2007)
> In January 2007, the company achieved NP EN ISO 14001: 2004 certification.

Implementation of the Quality Standard (2004)
> In March 2004, the company achieved NP EN ISO 9001: 2000 certification.

Permission for waste management operations by DRAOT-Norte (2002)
> Obtained prior authorisation for the following operations and types of waste:

  • Operations: Storage, sorting and processing.
  • Waste: Waste metal from constructions and demolitions, waste metal packaging, end-of-life-vehicles, used tyres, ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal, ferrous and non-ferrous metal chips and filings, ferrous metals extracted from ash, paper and carton urban waste, glass and metals collected selectively, and Monsters.

Increase in share-capital and redenomination into euros (2000)
> In September 30th, 2000, the share capital was increased to 400.924.000 escudos.

Industrial development and legal reorganisation (1996)
> A highly automated and productive solid waste fragmentation line, the only one in the north part of the country, was installed;
> The company’s legal denomination was changed to public limited company.

Industrial modernisation and new logistics (1994)
> Construction of a new, modern and functional plant premises in Carvalhos, where the company was transferred to;
> Automated industrial process;
> Lay-out streamlining;
> Operation and manufacturing flow optimisation;
> End quality improvement of finished product;
> Improvement of support logistics;
> Increased processing and delivery capacity;
> Global organisation improvement.

Diversification of activity (1982)
> Beginning of an industrial dynamic;
> Reduced mechanisation of the manufacturing process.

Incorporation (1965)
> The company was founded in 1965, with head-office in Vila Nova de Gaia and 600 million escudos share capital;
> The company’s main purpose is "buying and selling rags, waste paper and scrap metal”, although it may carry out an activity in any other branch of trade and industry;
> The company’s market implantation was done based on a strictly commercial logic;
> Activity development based on the transaction of recyclable products.


 

Investments
From 1996 to 2002 the company achieved a budget of around 10.000.000 €.
